I bought Kona at the March 2021 Kalona sale. She was in the loose pen and I am guessing she was there because her owners didn’t want to deal with the nasty, infected cut on her leg. We got her home and with some TLC and antibiotics we were able to get everything completely healed up. I have no idea if Kona was started before we owned her so we treated her like any other young horse. She quickly took a liking to the trails and her arena work was coming along. In July I was contacted by a family in MN looking for a quiet mount for their child. They had been riding for a while so didn’t need something completely beginner broke but needed a willing and able mount. After coming down to meet Kona they decided that she was a good match and she moved to MN. Her name is now Rory and I absolutely love seeing updates of her and her kiddo on Instagram every once in a while.
